I needed a calendar, and rather than re-invent the wheel, I looked for existing examples.
I found code written by Goodlookinguy. I then proceeded to enhance it a bit to my liking.

The code shows a monthly calendar with the present day highlighted,
or you can specify a date and have the calendar display that. (see screenshots).

There are a lot of Date and Time related functions in the code that you might make use of also.
